Well, I've been making good use of my time since I've been laid off. I decided to update my gear ratio calculator. I know several people here use it to plan out their truck builds.

Anyway, I cleaned up several little bugs, expanded the tables to handle STaK transfer cases better and massaged it to be easier to expand the lists of transmissions and t-cases. Give it a try and see how you like it:

I've tried it a couple of times but nothing happens when I hit the calculate button. :dunno:

The Muncie sm465 tranny doesn't default the transmission gear ratios. So when you hit calculate it leaves the result fields blank.

Yup. Does it on mine too. I'll fix it.

[edit]I figured it out. It was a typo. There were several others with the same problem and I fixed them too. Thanks for the tip.

Cool! Now I know how fast to go to find the most efficient speed of my 6.2

That's one of the reasons I built it, so I could figure out how to get the best from my daily driver that I sometimes wheel, along with trying to find a good set of gears for my rock crawler.

It works really nice now. :thumb: I was also using the 4 spd.

150:1 sounds pretty good. :D

pretty cool man.well worth the look/i thought my ratio was only 48 to 1 in low gear.i must have had one of the numbers wrong.this says im 56 to 1

I've had this linked for a few years now and always use it as a reference (especially when I got new tires:laugh:). I was wondering if it was possible to have a section for OD aux trans, like the Ranger or GV?

The majority of the D Series transaxles, as well as the RSX and RSX Type S and S2000 transmissions, are now included in the new Fatboy Raceworks Gear Ratio Calculator mwst rechner.

Additionally, a few minor issues with six speeds and various tire aspect ratios were corrected.

selecting "Manual/lockup" or "no lockup" seems to have no effect. There also seems to be no accounting for torque converter in the low speed calculations. Ideally you could enter a stall speed and weight and it would estimate the slip at highway speed and the multiplication at low speed. Simplistically, it could have some factor like "x2" or even a box to try different values.

How much torque would a torque converter convert if a torque converter could convert torque?
