Have a thread up for trading my 83 K5. Have had alot of people ask about a price to buy. I have no idea what it's worth.

-6 liter LS with Truck Norris cam, long tubes, and run with Holley Terminator.
-TH350 with 3200 stall and RMVB with 1st gear breaking
-Dana 60 front 4.56 and detroit ORD crossoversteering and crossmember. Barnes offroad diff cover. About 1k miles on complete rebuild.
-14 Bolt rear, shaved, 4.56s and Detroit. Disc brake conversion. Barnes offroad diff cover. About 1k miles on rebuild.
-37s
-Soft topper
-Tube bumpers with 9k winch
-new fuel tank
-Rockers are shot and floor and front fenders have rust. Have new rockers
-interior is rough

This truck was built to be a capable trail rig and does it very well. Just don't use it as much as I thought.

Any ideas on asking price? I'd honestly like to keep my motor and Termnator but I'm sure a jump in And drive truck os worth alot more.

My insurance company recently researched replacement cost for a 1985 Jimmy at $22k. Hagerty says an 83 in good condition is $25.7k https://www.hagerty.com/valuation-t...Cn1I000000D97wSAC&vbeSqlId=166886&catalog=yes. But that's a no rust, no issues type of vehicle.

I don't think "good mods" add much in value - surely a couple grand for the right buyer, but overall what the market wants is mint stock vehicles, so the body and interior issues detract way more than the mods add.

I would probably start high, if you're not in a hurry. It's amazing what people will pay for these now that they're "collectable" and a new SUV is $85k. Getting 4 digits could happen.

For a trail rig you're selling the pedigree of the parts..... those guy's are cheap

I agree with the money back out of modification. Just honestly have no idea what a fair price is.

The axles are worth at minimum 4k. Today you'd have a hard time duplicating that front axle for @2k.
It sounds like 10k is your number, ask 12k. How much value would your desired trade have?

It would not bring over $3-5K on the west coast due to the rust. So I would estimate $6-10K on the east coast.

I would also mention, the economy is in a slump at the moment and vehicles are not selling at top dollar any longer. It is taking much longer to sell much of anything at the moment and prices are going down compared to a year ago.
