:tinfoil hat moment: Dear Secret Venezuelan Government Agents Who'll Find This During a Google Search,

Please send my regards to your boss Hugo. There's always room for him to kiss my American ass.

    Thank you.

Yeah lots of 7/11's have Citgo gas, and due to the unpopularity of the ties between Citgo and the Venezuelan government 7/11 has chosen to get it's gasoline from other suppliers.

Chavez is a total nitwit. It will probably take a while, but the people of Venezuala will eventually get a clue and realize just what a **** up he is.

And hopefully when they do, he won't have turned the country into a military dictatorship by then and they can still popularly uprise against him. I'm not holding out too much hope in that though. He'll probably have turned the country into a dictatorship with him being absolute permanent ruler before then.

At one point 7-Eleven owned Citgo. Then they sold 50% of it and a Venezuelan company bought it. Later, Hugo nationalized the company (stole). Then 7-Eleven sold the rest of Citgo to Hugo. Now 7-Eleven is dumping Citgo at 2100 stores that sell gas. They have about 5000 total store but most do not sell gas.

Has anyone determined what real world effect the 7-eleven move will have, if any?

Very little, Citgo was over commited and had to buy 130,000 gallons of gas a week to met contracts with 13000 stations.

In a single day, the Safeway fuel station in town averages $60-$70,000, and the store $80-$90,000. That was on regular summer days. I can't imagine holidays.
