Vortec heads on 81 454?

Any one ever do put Vortec heads on 81 or similar 454?

haven't heard of anyone doing I do know that the intake bolts are different pattern because I was looking at using th fuel injection off one but it wont bolt up to my older heads

Na I'd go turbo.

But honestly I go with with something like this to wake that beast up. If you can swing it.

I wouldn't mess with a factory heads simply because its hard to find a good set. For my money it's not really worth the time/hassle. But if your budget won't yet you the vortec heads are a decent upgrade, I have thought about going that route with my 454 before, but once again it's a time/money/hassle thing. Intake and fuel injection problems and what not.
I will most likely go the 8.1 route before anything.
Or build a correct stroked 496(454) turbo engine. If I am going to be in there I want to fix the Eisenhower tunnel blues once and for all.
