I am back with a question about my truck. I have a 1984 K5 Blazer that is in the wifes garage because of it leaking. I know I need header seals, shell to body seal, door seals, door glass sweeps. So I was thinking it would be better to buy a seal kit for the whole truck. I ordered a kit from American Classic Seals dot com. I ordered it about a week and some ago and have yet to arrived. Has anybody baught anything from them or know if the seals are good or not. Where else sells a weatherstrip kit for the whole truck.

Thanks.

Ok, recieved the kit today....the are seals are made by Precision Auto Parts. At first glance the seals appear to be of good quality. Only problem is that it did not come with no sort of instructions. Wondering if any one knows the proper way to install the header seals and what type of sealant works the best.

I know some one has replaced the hard top seals on here. Wondering what type glue works the best to adhere the lower header seal to body and the rail seals to the hard top. And what is that putty like stuff in the front corners under the hard top.

weatherstrip adhesive, not weatherstrip cement. The adhesive is pretty nasty stuff dont get it anywhere that you want to look pretty. Let us know how the glass sweeps fit for you, i got some from LMC and they fit like crap

I put the glass run channels and sweeps on both doors last night, and the sweeps on the tailgate. They fit like a glove. Thanks for your reply DeviousK5. The complete weatherstrip kit was $300 and only problem was that it was on backorder for a month. The back glass run channel and tailgate seal is still on backorder.

I think the stuff I used was made by Loctite. It's gooey black stuff that smells like model cement. You put a thin layer on each part and let it dry. Then add another thin layer to one side, press together, and it's permanent almost on contact.

Ok, I got everything I need I think, Top is primed and getting ready to do some final sanding and then to paint it. Afterwards I will be glueing the seals on. The header inner and outer seals were ripped off a while back and I can't remember how exactly they go back on, does anyone have a closeup of the header seals on their Blazer?

I plan on getting all my seals from LMC Truck, they also have the weather strip adhesive, you can buy it by the tube.

Andrew
