Anyone figured out a way to bypass the websense filters at work? The damn thing is annoying.
Not gonna happen. We have them too. In fact, every time you hit a blocked website, it keeps a log. The net nazis can then snivel at you and waive it in your face......
at my last job we had a filter, and it brought you to a page that listed what you'd done and such. so as a prank i went to the page on purpose by trying to check personal e-mail, and took a screen shot, i then changed the infraction from webbased e-mail, to underage porm..... soooo funny. i almost got my ass kicked, no one would believe it was a joke... here click it, and please pull the same prank
so funny, here try really funny!!!
Nice to know tha there is a log, although I suspect that everything is logged. The "child porn" joke is damn funny, but I work for an insurance company and no one here has a sense of humor.
I built and configured a WebSense server at my last job. What sucked was that I was blocked from the same sites as everyone else on the network. I justed hooked up a modem to my pc and used my dial up account to check my email and get to the restricted pages.
Apparently it not only restricts access to sites, but keeps some pice (think the pig pen) from being viewed. Some are fine, sometimes I get a blank. PITA
we were able to reroute the proxy through a "squid 80" port....pete, does that make sense? cause it worked... i just dont know why
