at cruising speed, my truck makes this clicking sound before it downshifts from OD, like it cant decide what gear to be in. it only does this a few seconds before it either downshifts or i back off the throttle a little. it also feels like the converter is locking and unlocking. is this what that noise is? its gotten worse lately, and as of 3 days ago, its annoying the hell out of me.

of course, 3 days after i hit 100,000 miles, the truck starts doin wierd [darn] /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Could be the TCC solenoid, (along with 30 other things lol) but in any case, if it is the TCC solenoid, it shouldn't be audible if it is working correctly.

Unplug the connector on the drivers side of the tranny, and take it for a test drive. Duplicate the conditions it occurs in. If it no longer does it, it's something involving TCC.
