What do you guys think?

Your dog will love the back seat... we can`t leave the yard without bringing ours along... then when we get home he doesn`t want out. :D

Nice cc man, can`t wait to see what you do with it. :thumb:

thanks bro.. it's not as cool as yours is, but I hope to make it pretty fun in short order... I've ALWAYS wanted to do this CC/flatbed idea, just couldn't find the justification prior..
LOL...well, yours runs anyway. That's a big step up from mine. :doah:

Just reading through the thread I get the impression that you've got a few simple mods, but I really can't wait to see the Ryoken treatment for it. I'm guessing you'll go full on after the blazer is done to a point. Anyway, welcome to the crew cab club! She's a beaut! :thumb:

touche.. :haha:

born of necessity.... :doah:

unfortunately the K5 is back burnered for a bit...

I'll probably be working on the CC exclusively for about 6 months, and than continue with maintenance and occasional upgrade stuff from than on... but by the fall, I'd like to be back putting time on the K5, and hardcore over next winter.. the CC should have settled itself into winter DD status at that point...

Wow...those look good too....any truck tire for $100 is a good deal...just curious...do you put bead lockers on the inside set?

I think Kerts are simulated beadlocks....

Paul, just getting caught up with this thread again...can't wait til you get it...I think you'll be pleased dealing with Issaam.

Well I sure hope so.
I don't know the truck too much but the issues that I had with it I dealt with, and it being a NV truck makes it nice and clean. :dunno:

I have no doubt he's a good guy, been very accommodating.... it's nice to have bought what I originally wanted in the first place.. getting a rust-free platform is a godsend.. I doubt there's one in my state anywhere that isn't a rust bucket...

MI too....although I have some mostly surface rust to deal with mine....its amazingly solid...you don't even see them sitting around anymore...all gone to scrap.

I wouldn't want real beadlocks anyway on this rig, no purpose in em...

talked to my steel guy today, taking a ride out to hang with em next week and figure out what box, plate, etc stuff I'll need... it wont be too much.. I've heard rumor that steel prices have gotten even stupider the last 6 months or so..

also need to figure out how much tube ballpark I'll need, off the top of the head, I'm guessing it'll be 80' to 100' of 2" x .120 wall....

the one that scares me the most is the Al plate.... I remember the 1/4" I got for the fairlead skid wasn't particularly cheap... and I'm looking to get at least 2 sheets of 4' x 8'.. :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: just haven't decided if that's gonna be diamond plate or smooth yet..

at least I'm back banging good checks in the marina to finance this... :haha:

I was looking for 1/4" sheet metal to build a tornado shelter...$$$

well, this is alum, sooooooo.... in my head, I'm figuring a 4 x 8 is gonna be between $500 and $600.. so it'd be over a grand in just alum...

ok, sweet, much more doable.. obviously truck freight would hurt it.. but hopefully I can find a local place that's comparable.. thanks!!

I have ordered from metalsdepot.com many times. I have always been satisfied. Shipping was always reasonable but I never ordered a 4 X 8 sheet.

I see it's Kentucky, that might not be bad..

I'll have to ask my welder bud.... i use him for all my angle iron, square tube, plate steel, strip steel, etc, amazing shop... he's looking to retire soon, wish he'd sell me some equipment!

too bad he doesn't play with tube anymore...

I'll have to see what he does about alum.. for awhile he did all the ambulance/firetruck stuff around, so he's played with a ton.. but I do know one of our local suppliers closed recently, so he may not have a lead for me, and metalsdepot may get a call from me....
