I know this is a stupid question, but I'm going to change mine in the next few weeks. I'm not sure if they are bad or not but mine have never been changed and the blazer has 130k miles on it. I think they recommend changing at 100k but I'm not sure. The ride quality on mine is not too great. Does replacing the ball joints help the ride?

It doesn't help the ride of your vehicle, but it fixes un-even tire wear problems. Camber problems.

Also, really worn ball-joints can be unsafe to use, especially offroad. It is more possible to bust off the knuckle of your axle with worn joints, than new.
