I need to store some stuff on my trailer and wanted to see what others use.... Some type of storage box on tung of trailers....

.50 cal ammo boxes, large style. you can weld or drill on them and then seal them back up as they are water tight.

the next step would be some weatherguard boxes. they make some in a tounge style box that fist up front on a bumper pull.

Can you take a couple of pic's of the boxes your using? What dimensions are we talking about (Large ones)?

large ones, it will be a while before i can get to them. i use small ones as well.

the large ones are 12'' high, 12 long and 6 wide

I use a tounge box that is raised to allow use of a trailer winch that I installed inside the box.

Check these out, weatherproof and weldable. Only thing I don't like is the lid is completly removed to open. I can see it flying off on the highway when I forget to clamp it on. :doah:

Check what out? Did you forget to add a pic?

i mounted a pickup truck upper bed side mount tool box on the front of my trailer... its up off the deck about 20 inches, and the back of the box is even with the edge of the deck, so its above the jack. i wired it to have spotlights with a switch inside, powered from the 7 pin conector, and put lights on the side of it so i could see it when i was turning sharp. i love the box, holds my chains, weight distribution hitch, tarp, straps, ect... and the best part is the thing is very secure.

sorry i am at school, and i wont be back home for 2 weeks to take any.... but i will take some and then post them up

Heres what I did for storage on my trailer.
This is the front of my buddys trailer... For some reason I have pics of his trailer on my computer and not mine.....
I used 1/4" checker plate and expanded metal for a bottom (makes for easy cleaning of chains).

I like that! I will have to do that too mine. How thick diamond plate did you use?

I went a little over kill on the checker plate. I used 3/16" but it's all I had in the garage. and the hinge material I used on mine is over kill. as I used 1" tubing....
Heres a pic of mine. (the one I posted before was my buddies)

I like that one a little better. Hinges are mounted in a better spot making the access door larger. Nice job!

i have a delta box i bought at a local cal ranch store.i painted it to match the trailer and bolted it to the tongue.it has a weatherproof seal and does lock on the top in the middle.there is a pic in the recent photo galleries i just dont know how to insert it here:doah:.sorry.also the pic is kinda blurry.
