What method do you use to remove frame rivets?

The only time I've had to do it, I just used an a drill, with a bit slightly larger than the shank of the rivet. Once the head was off, I used a drift and drove it out.

It was the drivers forward spring mount.

I don't remember it being a slow process, but it was 6 years ago.

BTW, when it came time to re-assemble, I used grade 8 bolts with a shank that was snug in the hole. Tightening it, drew it into the hole.

They have never come loose.

The one I had is about half the size of your typical log splitting maul!(I have one of those too!)...the trick to removing rivets manually is to use a BFH to hit the chisel,or whatever else your using as one!,and to hit it HARD!!--and try not to mash your fingers or other body parts--thats where the 18" handle on the "maul" comes in handy--keeps things out of the hammers path!..we had to do a LOT of demolition by hand at the junkyard--no air hoses or power outlets in the far end of a 19 acre yard!..

I used to laugh when someone would be hitting something with a hammer for hours,then find out they were using a wimpy tack hammer to hit the chisel,when I went to go see what was taking them so long!..I'd break out my 5-8lb sledge and the "maul",and in three or four whacks,the part was OFF!..

use what they call a scarfing tip in ur torch ...it won't cut into frame or bracket if used rite then punch them out

Plasma torch the heads off then punch out the backside... usually takes about 15-20 secs each... The plasma cutter is probably the best money i ver spent in tools....

i use a Matco long barrel air hammer. probably 12" long, minus the chisel (probably close to 18" with the rivet splitter on it). i've taken several frames down to nothing in a matter of an hour or so. never had any clearance issues with it either.

grinder to make it flush with the frame... a little bit of drilling in the center of the rivet... then a big punch + the bfh. Works for me... but didn't see it listed on the poll...
