Hey guys,

I'm looking for a set of mud terrain tires for my daily driver. Its a 2001 F-150 7700 4x4. I am going with a 35-12.5/17. It will pretty much be just a mall crawler, but occasionally will see a bit of light offroad. I'm not about to put a set of 35 inch all terrains on it, because I will defeat the purpose of the look I'm trying to achieve haha. So what can you guys suggest for a tire that will give me some decent wear? I have heard that procomps last well, same with some BFgoodrichs. Any body have any suggestions for a tire that won't wear out too quick, yet still look tough? I'm not concerned with road noise, just long life. Thanks

Ive heard good things bout the procomps but never ran them. Right now Im running wildcats but havent had them long so I cant say how well they will wear. They were cheap and Ive heard good things about them and they look pretty mean. good traction too.

buckshot mudders are pretty good that what on my wifes truck and the r cheap. BFG mud wear good but r not cheap

For a DD used on the street I highly recomend you get a siped MT tire like Pro comps or The Interco TrXus mentioned above. Espically if you drive on Ice and packed snow. Siping really improves wet, Ice, and Snow traction on the street. Un siped MTs like BFGs can get a little scary on the ice.
I have a set of Pro Comp MTs and like them. They handle good both on and off road. Not very noisy either. Seem to be wearing well so far.

I have run both the procomp xterrians and the trxus on my DD wheeling rig. Both are great all around tires but the Trxus was a little better when it came to wheeling and the procomps where a little better on the street plus they lasted forever (I'm still running them). I have also heard good things about the bfg's, I would just recommend getting the ones that look the best to you and which ever one you can get the cheapest.

I've had good luck with BFG MT's and Goodyear MTR's. Both need to be dynamically balanced or periodically rebalanced else they will eventually go out of round on a DD. The Goodyear MTR's were a bit better in my experience but went out of round very badly.

Take it from me....I'm on my second set of 33/12.5x15 ProComp mud terrains on my DD. Rotate and balance them EVERY oil change (I use internal beads, so I don't worry about balance, just rotate), and they'll last a long time. Just don't do burn-outs or anything, 'cause then you'd be two kinds of gay.

No bull$hit, I got 60,000 miles outta my first set to ProComp MT's just my rotating 'em around the truck often. I've got about 5,000 on this set I have now.

Also, I will say, I'm very impressed with their wet weather traction on asphalt. Again, within reason - obviously ya can't take wet road turns at 90mph....or then you'd be four kind of gay.

Check out the ProComps, they're worth the money.

Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ. Hands down best tire I've ever owned. I DD my truck and these tires unstopable. Plus they look totally bad ass. Edit: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=193098&highlight=mickey+thompson+baja+mtz

lol, I didnt know there were that many kinds of gay. I almost spit my Mountan Dew on my new monitor.

Alright thanks for all the feedback guys! I think it will be a set of Pro Comp XTerrains for me. I will definetly need the siping in them as its winter half the year here. I found a really good site for some tires..

Does anybody have any other sites that have a better price? And that ship to Canada?

For DD tires Ive ran Goodyear Workhorses on both my K10 and S10 Blazer. I liked them on both. Excellent winter tire although its just an A/T.

Im currently running Winston Winner M/Ts on my Blazer which is basically a knock off TSL Radial. I love them. Great mud, snow, and gravel handling. They actually howl less then the Workhorses did. Although they are wearing out a little faster.

I dont rotate as often as I should though either. That and I still do a burnout now and again.
