What would you do. I also want to put the transfercase disc brake kit on all the combo's above. I want to do this right the first time.

I would say a t-case would be good. :D :haha:

Seriously, the 205 is the best t-case you can get but it doesn't have the lowest ratio.

All around use Mud,trails, street, Maybe some rock crawling. Right now it is sitting on 35" tires D60 front with 4" lift and Zero rates, Rear 14 bolt shackle flip and Zero rates.

I guess what I'm after is a solid drive train. That will stand up to future Mods bigger tires more HP.

Just to keep it simple I would suggest a LoMax 205 . Ya' get the gear when needed and the durability of the 205 is second to none.
You'll have to deal with the 32 spline input issues or step up to a TH400 like mentioned earlier.

Right now I can go what ever direction I want with the trans. I have 2 700's one on the floor of my garage that doesn't work and the one in my blazer that doesn't work so maybe I should think about going the 400 route. I was under the imprresion that a 700 could be built strong?

yep it can but some people have and have good luck and love ther deep first gear and OD
but the 400 with me low/low is ok 4;56 with 42tst works on a trail truck only that is me

for you if you are on small rubber and highway a lot 700 could be the way

like with the d44 build chomo shafts and whatever == just get a d60 -or like hotroding a moped;)

Whats wrong with a hotrod moped? I got some angry mods done to mine yo!

I had my 700r4 in the burb built for 500+ HP trans shop said it should handle 650-700hp easy. But they are in the biz to sell trans. right? Anyway I had them do every beef up mod the can do exept full manual reverse valve body. in the end it was $1850 for the rebuild. They also put on a 40,000lb rated trans cooler and said the key to long life 700 is keep it cool. I dunno what case id go with; doublers are cool and all but I can see myself either useing double low or high all the time so maybe just a low gear case would suit me better. However the triple sticks just look sexy and would confuze would be thieves.

it is posable and that looks like a good price to
Steve W from ORD runs a 700 and i would kill just to drive it on 1 trail ;) but i am just thinking simple and cheep
but you have 1 good and low miles and ready i might go 700

as a side note ask stack 3 if the input setup is cheep and easy to swap that may be the deal right there

i have a 700 with a ord doubler, it works great, but the 5.38's are the big helper for the tranny. If your not wheeling crazy, you dont need a doubler and in that case, id get a np208(cheap and good gearing) and bellypan the damn thing.

My reasons for the 700 were overdrive as i drive 100 miles to the trail sometimes and the low first gear because i only drive the truck if im going wheelin. My other reason for the 700 is later down the road, i can put a vortec with a 4l60e (not 65e) in my truck, and my doubler will bolt right in be fuel injected.

If your 700R4 is good stick with it. if its bad then you can run anything you want. I have a 700R4 in my truck and am very hard on it. ask Ramjet GMC, he has see how I push it.

no one ever talks about it but I like the klune-v. its small, lightweight and you can mount any trans and t-case combo to it. I got a quote for putting it between my 700 and 241, $1800. thats not cheap, but its infinity clockable along with the weight and size advantages over other doubler setups. PM FOR MUD, he will tell you how much it sucks taking a 203/205 combo in and out.

looking at your current setup, I had the same thing, I would run a 700/241 and some 4.56 gears. low gears for the trail and OD for the street. search around on here, you will find lots of guys that like that combo.

what are your current axle gears? are you planning to swap them? a lot of people go really deep in the axles when a doubler costs about the same and gives them so much more.
