is that a birfield joint or a closed knuckle or what? never seen anything like that.
Birfield on a Yota...
Not used to seeing those intact (the guts, anyway). /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Did you see what vehicle it is?
it looks to me like the same set up that they use on landrover/rangerover at least the older ones. I have yet to see any of the new stuff
The Birfield is the axle joint inside... What you see there is simply a closed-knuckle design.
Tie rod end gonna rub a hole in that tire....
wierd! like me!
Looks just like the closed knuckle Dana 44 under my '72 Jimmy. It's a 44 front out of a '69 3/4 ton. I also have a 44 front under a '64 International pickup with the same closed knuckle design.
the 4 bolts holding the steering arm on and the 4 bolts on the bottom tell me toyota. also disc brakes and the spring pad on top and under the housing for the upside down u bolts they use.
Separate names with a comma.
