I have the most wonderfullest wifey in the whole gosh darn world. I have been given permission to use a chunk of our tax refund on my K5's. So now I need help on how to spend some of it.
First definite purchase will be an engine that my mechanic offered me. A basically brand new(has less than 100 miles on it) crate 350 HO with accessories for $600 bucks. No it's not stolen but that's all he has into it...long story. So score 1 for me...YAAAAAYYYY.
So that leaves approximately $1400-1500 left over for other toys. Now I can sink it into redoing the suspension on my '86 daily driver(worn out 4" Rancho with blocks..) or I can put it into necessary things that are needed to get the '74(mostly trail...4" lift,3/4 ton 10b/14bff, H2's) up and going(tranny, transfer case, tires...etc...).
I'm thinking about putting the HO into the '86 and putting the one from the '86 into the '74 and eventually stroking it. It runs great now and I haven't really had any issues with it but the thought of replacing it with a new motor is appealing.
So I'm sure you see my dilemma, redo the '86 and put the '74 on the backburner for another year or get the '74 up and going?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
