Okay, I have been offered a free top for my lil' Blazer project. The problem is #1 I don't really have a good place to put it. and #2 Not too sure what to do with it once I have it.

I'm slightly considering hacking it up, maybe for no good reason. I was thinking about cutting the windows out and leave a 3" strip along the bottom, front and back. Enough to bolt it down and have a stock spot for the rear window to go into. I was thinking I would put snaps/velcro around the topper on this 3" lip to connect a removable top.

The only reason I can think of, for not doing it, is that when the top is off, it would look like I have some kind of goofy wing, or some kind of back-ass looking roll bar (from a distance).

I generally verge on the crazy, I may be a little more so at the moment...

Any good suggestions on what to do with this topper?

I believe someone already thought about using a spare top to make a safari top...I know I saw a thread on it before.

I've got one spare top for my K5, and one for my friends Bronco. Along with two aluminum truck toppers. I build frames for them and make sheds out of them. Some 2x4's and plywood is all it takes. Keeps the neighbors of my back (well not really, but it's one less thing for them to complain about). The Blazer top shed has the lawn mower in it. Bronco has the street wheels/tires for my drag car. The truck toppers are a little bit better because they are deeper. I've got several F-body doors, ground effects, spoilers, hoods, wheels, axles, etc shoved into thoes.

I think it was metro I would lik to see it done buy some one. he had some drawings in how he wood do it

Yep Metro was considering it, and I still am. It would require some bracing between the front and rear to keep the stability in the top even with the canvas removed. I like the idea of having a soft top but still keeping the rear window functional.
