I am buying rims shortly and need to decide on valvestems. What do you guys run just plain ol rubber shorty snap ins, short metal clamp style which ones and why. I would think rubber is cheap and easy to change if one gets ripped out. Metal is stronger but not sure if it will give at all if hung up plus not easy to change on the trail.

Thanks

Ira

I use the short rubber ones. I have drug them over rocks and they do just give and keep on going. I have seen the metal ones get all bent and even bust open. PLus the rubber ones are easier to install and cheap. :D

It depends on the rim I'm using. If they're some rims I didn't spec myself, I use the short rubber ones.

If I special ordered them, I have the valve stem relocated near the center of the rim and use the metal ones.

Yep same ones im running.
