Whatchya building for BB16?

Do you know how many people have done 1 tons and 38's?!

It's not about what has been done, but the slightest twist you put on it yourself. Build threads are great for more than one reason.

On behalf of most of the thread whores here, we ask you do your own build thread also. It's great to see every different angle of a build.
Yep, I'm notorious about not posting in build threads, but I do use them as a resource

What he said. Every build is different and there's some tidbit of information we can glean from your thread, so post up!

That's a very good point!!!
Had some time today so I went ahead and started a build thread for this project. I'll do what I can to try and keep posting the progress.

I just put on a set of 39.5X16.5-17 Pit Bull Rockers and 17x9.5 Allied bead-locks this past weekend. If I don't get them sold before BB16 I will have some well used 37X13.5-17 Pit Bull Rockers and 17X10 MRW wheels (non bead-lock) for sale at BB this year.
If you still got them I'm calling dibs!flagwaver

I doubt I will make it this year my lease on my apartment is up in sept and i need to get into a house with a garage. Apartment wrenching sucks. But if I have money for the trip and deposit and all that moving garbage and I get all the following done Ill try to make it out.
Finish and install 14 bolt. Swap front gears replace ball joints and axle shaft joints. build skid plate for tcase. New shocks, rear shock brace, front shock mounts, body mounts, finish ac, check and tighten all bolts on major stuff. Have most of the parts all ready so we shall see. Havent had this rig in 4x4 in a couple years so I'd like to have a couple runs on it to make sure everything is nice and tight and ready to rock.

I started from the bottom:

Now im here:

Engine has been rebuilt more or less backed by hydro 32 spline sm465/208.. Scored a bed/tailgate. I have most of the big items already. Hopefully going to fire it in the next couple of weeks, then its on to mounting the bed/paint!

So what the plan is, and things never go according to plan, lol, but before I'll be ready,

ill NEED to: redo the rear 4 link suspension so no more trailing arms and then coilovers mounted to axle and new upper coilover mounts and lower link frame mounts, swap in front axle I have with 4.88 gearing to match rear with new 3 link brackets and tabs. install new front drive shaft, install oil cooler. Need 8 lug rims/rubber still. Install in-line fuel pressure valve if i don't get to the TBI swap or carb modifications.

WANT to: new fuel cell and mounting/rear bumper, tires, TBI swap/carb mods, new seats, clean-up/ redo some wiring, redesign front engine cage/better mounting for front clip, install front bumper/winch mounting, install sound system/cb radio, LED Light Bars Bro, fab new exhaust piping and install muffler.

I may have to do a full rebuild by then.

On my right hip. Had it reconstructed 6.5 years ago. Could not walk Wednesday from the pain. A little better today. But work 45 mutes and sit for 20 sucks. Really slows me down. Dr appointment tomorrow. Getting old sucks.

I told you then you needed grease zerks

Ok, I need some motivation. It's hot this weekend, 97 degrees and 80% humidity! But I'm determined this thing moves, on its own power, out of the garage by tomorrow. Things to do:

Finnsh bolting in t-case
Tighten rear u-bolts
Bleed rear brakes
Bolt in shocks
Install rear driveshaft
Add all fluids
And bolt on the tires.

Its a short list , easy list, just need to stay focused and make it to this next step. I'm running way behind schedule!

I was beginning to wonder if you were still doing this, glad you are. Keep up the good work!
