Whats the diff between OBA and the CO2??

When most people speak of OBA it usually means On Board Air and is a compressor that is mounted on the engine and is engine driven, there are other systems that are electric pumps that people also refer to as OBA, CO2 is a tank that you have filled with air and when you run out you have the tank refilled.

But there are electric compressors as well, wich is better mechanically driven or electrica.

scratch the tank if you go empty your done id preffer the compressor.

Engine driven would be best IMO. There will be arguments on each side of the coin. For instance if your engine doesn't run you have no air if engine driven, but electric you would still have air. An electric driven takes juice from the battery to operate while an engine driven does not. The electric ones do not put out anywhere near what the York compressor does. So to each his/her own.

I love my york compressor and it can be done fairly cheap if you can turn a wrench and have access to a junkyard. I pulled the york, a couple mounting brackets and some relays from a junkyard for about $50. Cut and tacked the brackets together to make something that would fit. Then I got a 10 gallon tank, some air hose and fittings from tsc for another $50 or so and wired and plumbed it up. Definitely on of my favorite mods so far

ok so whats a good brand and can i see some pics
For an engine driven compressor? a york ac compressor is about the easiest way to go, although there are a few others that people have made work. Do a quick search for "york compressor" or "oba" there are lots of threads and pictures on this site.

I thought I read you can run AC with some compressors. Is that true?

Oh ok. The PO took out the AC on my truck so I'm thinking of filling the hole with the oba

I use CO2. I can carry it wherever I need it. You don't have to buy the $$$ powertank setup, get it from Airgas.
