What's the latest on doublers?

What do you mean by that? If you mean who's is best they're all pretty much the same. I do like ORD's being that it's one piece and really strong.

The ORD design looks to be the best IMHO. One piece, custom clocking options, and a short length make it the best one out there. They all do the same thing though and the combinations of transfercases is still the 203/205. I know some guys found a way to put a 241 range portion on the front of a 205 but it is a super custom piece.

Thanks guys.

How about $? I've seen NWF, ORD, and Jed's. I think Jed's used to be the cheapest, but now has no price.

I'm liking ORD.

I should look into it more. I could build my own I'm sure...

Jed's is cheaper but that's because it's not an all inclusive kit, ORD & NWF kits are.

For me, I went with the ORD kit. I like the one piece adapter.

??? What do you think is missing in the Jed's Machining kit. His comes fully assembled (welded & machined flat), is steel, and offers either 4340 shaft or resplined. It also had the gaskets, bolts & breather fitting. I got the resplined shaft, because it was all he had in stock and I was in a hurry (I'll probably upgrade later). Cost was $540 + 30 shipping. Neither Jeds or ORD had one in stock when I called. Jeds was cheaper and was able to get it out same day.

EDIT: Jed's had the parts on the shelf and was able to build and ship one the same day.

Maybe you can fix your contradiction. I think you meant NWF and ORD didn't have them in stock since you said you bought one from Jeds. :D

Jed's may have changed their kits now. I have a friend that bought a kit a couple of years ago and it didn't have any hardware, gaskets or seals (basically just the adapter and shaft).

Looks like NWF is running a sale, check out the vendor forum.

If you're a star member over on pirate, NWF is having a giveaway. I like my NWF doubler, and they warranty their product...but I don't think there's much of a strength advantage between the ORD one. ORD is cool tho...because there are less moving parts...the NWF just gives the advantage of clocking capabilities.

600 bucks for a doubler seems cheaper than re gearing my axles

What clocking posotion is that? Floor modification? It looks like that is why I ask.

203 is flipped and the LoMax is clocked up 4", I'm gonna chop the entire tranny tunnel and build a new one. I'm not sure if I clocked it up correctly, but for some reason I'm not truly happy with the position of the 205 since it still hangs below the frame a bit.

Wow, that does not look right from what you described, and 4" up 205and a flat 203 should still have considerable floor modification, but it does not look like you gained anything except a big hump in your floor.

I take that back, I think I was seeing the forklift tire and thinking it was the bottom of the 205. oooops

I run a machine and welding shop. I have my own junkyard of driveshafts and parts and new ones on the shelf if i don't have them laying around, we build driveshafts...i'm not too worried about extra expenses. just gives me an excuse to go 1410 and reduce the angle on the front shaft = longer. rig is gonna be a shortened crewcab i think so rear should be good.
