my mechanic got my 14bff ready to go in my truck then he noticed the wheel studs seem like they are 3/4 inch shorter than the ones currently on my semi float.

i think i need a 4 inch length stud to get my wheels on safely with enough thread. does anyone know where i can get 4 inch studs and the correct measurement of the stud itself? (coarse,fine,1/2 inch or larger?)...im lost.

i dont want him searching for them on my behalf...so i figured id ask the brotherhood.:bow::bow:

9/16-18-3"

what kind of wheel you running?

its an aluminum wheel, i guess the thickness of the wheel itself combined with the fact that the studs on the full float are shorter, doesnt give me enough stud.

i was told i need a total length of 4 inches.

i know what the 9/16 means, but what about the 18 and the 3? so that means im looking for a 9/16-18-4? im guessing...

I just pulled this off ORD's site

"Many 3/4T 14 bolts will have a wheel stud that's too short when used with the disc kit and some thicker center wheels. Most 1-ton axles have a longer wheel stud that's generally fine. If your studs are too short, use a 14 bolt dually stud and you'll have plenty of thread."

so if im reading this correctly, i can swap in the 14 bolt dually wheel stud???

Yes, thats what I did. They are closer to 3" than 4 though.

the 18 is the thread per inch count.

Thanks Zim. Im guessing you had the same problem. This is a longshot but is that measurement of 3' taken from the start of the thread to the end, after the knurl?

Thanks for all of your help!

If you looking for a dully wheel stud, the one you need is a Doman #610-194. I got mine last week from autozone. They were $1.99 each. Its total length is 4". The thread length is
2". Hope this helps.

wow, im glad you chimed in. i had looked up dorman part 610-301, i found it on pirate. i wonder what the difference is...

Sorry, I don't know the differance. I did a lot of research doing my didc swap on a ff 14bolt. Hope that helped. Good luck.

the part number munepit gave is the longer bolt....thanks!

610-301 = 3 1/4 inches

610-194 = 3 17/32 inches

Thanks to you both!!!

x2

I just picked these up from Autozone as well. Napa had them but wanted $3.99 apiece.

Advance Auto had them in stock too, but they were listed in the computer as 98741.1, but they still said Dorman in the computer.

Here's the 610-194 installed with a hub + 3/4ton front rotor with some stock studs.

I used the 194's also, the length is measured from the seat surface of the stud head, so it includes the shank, knurled portion, and the threads.
I got mine at Autozone for 1.99 each +tx.
