Out behind the SAC was even better than Red Sand most of the time. I liked the dunes, but I came from the Glamis region and Glamis makes red sand look like nothing. It you go on top of the Franklins on the cable car and look south over the border you can make out some HUGE dunes south of Juarez. I never had a chance to check them out, but was told i wasn't a very safe place to go(one you might not come back from if you happened across any locals down there). Sure looked like fun though.

And with good reason. I used to go through Mexicali to my dad's g/fs house in Baja when I was in Hhighschool and never thought twice about it, but I wouldn't go through Juarez without about 5 or more friends with me(all would have to be Mexican too).

I am watching now trying to remeber. It has been three years since I was in El Paso though, so not sure how much help I will be.

That looks like some of the area a little farther east from the SAC. I am not positive, but that is not right next to red sand unless it is even farther east than Little Red.

Will do. If i get stationed there again I might be going through a divorce first. Wife couldn't stand the place(damn northerner couldn't take the heat).
