Just curious because I usually put all my Christmas stuff away the day after New Years...
Ours are still up
Took mine down monday January second. P. S., I really like your sig. line.
Trick question, you move to the country dead end road and never put them up to begin with...Ha...
I'll vote the day after Christmas because none of the options fit, but I waited until Dec 29th. Couldn't make it until New Years... I hate tripping over the damn thing that long! Once Christmas is done, the *magic* is gone...
When I was single and in school, we never took the lights down. We also left them plugged in way too much. My wife is far more organized.
We did used to have a neighborhood race to get them up the day after thanks giving, when I did the burb thing,,I don't miss it...
I still have my x-mas tree from '04 on my back porch. Just thought i'd add that.
we usually take ours down the week after christmas. On the 26th....its no more fun.
O yeh, and they are christmas decorations, not holiday
most stuff came down around New Years. I have a the tree lying in the back yard waiting to meet it's fate in march @ TDS
I put Xmas lights around the "U" shape of my quonset hut garage 3 years ago..still there!..all I had to do was plug them in,and wiggle the wires a bit, then they all lit up!..but now instead of multi-colored lights, they are all white now..the dye on the bulbs must not be UV resistant..
They will need to be taken down this year,so I can paint the front wall, its all peeling..but I'll probably just move them aside and put them right back again, and use them until they wont light up anymore..I have plenty more "fresh" ones waiting to replace them..
Why do I leave them up??--easy..I'm a lazy F*** when it comes to standing on ladders when its cold, and usually icy too..I'd rather do it in august or september..and also if someone is coming to your house, and has never been there before, its REAL easy to spot the house with its Xmas lights on in July..
Our 2' Ceramic "tree" is still in the bay window..but I think we lit it up all of twice this year, and I only turned the garage lights on one or two nights, the week before Christmas..I wasn't in a "jolly" mood this Christmas, and I'm still in a funk..glad all the phoney "love and brotherhood, and Goodwiil Towards Men" is over with!.. ...now things can return to normal..if there is such a thing!..
my stuff is still up... i was sick last weekend... I'll get 'em when I get around to it.
Not if you decorate with a menorah
*looking up definition of menorah*
Ah yes, I guess then they wouldnt call it christmas.
Anyway, more on topic, always been said its bad luck to leave em up past the first of the yr. Of course then on new years eat black eyed peas, ham and greens to be prosperous the next year, so who knows about that.
Dec 26. By then the tree is a fire hazard.
i have a "holiday tree" i have at my desk at work thats been up for 3 years now. its a 4' tall tree w/1000 lights on it.
i say holiday tree, because whatever holiday it is (arbor day, 4th, memorial day, etc) thats the type of tree it is.
funny thing is that my boss hasnt said anything about it.
never put any up this year
I never put any up at my house, im to cheap to plug in any more lights right, now the only light on in my house is my computer and the LED screen on my stereo.
My mom took hers down 3 days after christmas and her tree down a week after.
