I can find all the shorter versions of the automatic shifters through B&M and Hurst, but does anyone make a taller version? Want to be able to shift without bending down to reach the shifter? Have a TH-350 Transmission

Shane-

I just bought the B & M Mega shifter (truck version with tall base). Haven't put it in yet, but it looks to be very tall.

I've seen tall shifters for street rod applications from "Lokar".... Don't really have any experience w/ them tho....

Yea that's what I thought, I want something almost as tall as a manual tranny. I may just go to a performace shop around here and see what it looks like in person. Just don't want a big base looking out of place on the floor if possible.

Thanks, Shane

its cool, ask around for pics, i know a few guys run the truck megashifter here, see if you can find a pic to see what it really ends up looking like, Kpanza comes to mind, i know there are a few others too...

like mentioned earlier, Lokar makes a tall shifter. Many old trucks like my 46 had flat floors with no transmision hump at all. The shifters made today to put auto trans in those old trucks are pretty long, at least 2 feet.

Yea I forgot about them? I'll there too.

Hey Marv, Still have all your suspension stuff seeing if I can swing it by the fiance! LOL!

i use a shifter called "unimatic" from B&M, it's looks like a manual shifter an you can put it where you want as it is cable operated. i got mine for aboot 80 bucks or so from Summit Racing. it wasn't listed, i called an asked for it from one of the tech /order folks.

Keith, what is the price for that? Cable operated? Any problems with install or cable adjustment?

Frank,

It's a pretty easy and straightforward install, and is cable operated. I checked, and we don't get that great of a discount on the B&M stuff - our price with your 15% discount would be $186.96 + tax/shipping...I checked Summit and they are selling them for $151!!! That's almost 40 bucks lower than our JOBBER price! Dang, they sure do get some sweet discounts! It did say that they were backordered on them til 5/12/02...but also remember that you will pay no tax and only $7.95 shipping at Summit...just trying to save you the bucks! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif On some things, we get great discounts, but on items where we don't I try to steer you to the best price! If I remember correctly, I actually bought MINE from Summit or Jeg's, it was cheaper for me, even as an employee here! /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

By the way, just FYI, the part number you need is 80690...
