i have three that are all cheap aluminum junk. not even a year later. all three leak. so after i get them out again and get my money back. where can i find a good oem copper or maybe something ever better to replace? thanls
All purchased new I assume? Are they plastic tanked or all AL?
Which rig is this in? I had expressed concerns sometime back about the twisting the 73-87's probably have regarding AL radiators, although haven't seen much saying it's actually happened.
Where I'm going is whether or not the truck is the problem, or 3 radiators in a row.
yes all new. plastic tank and the middle is al. one in a 91 k5. 91 van 88 burban. i dont think it would be the trucks. just think i bought cheap crap. the 91 and the 88 burban have not seen any offroad yet. so know where i can get a good ones?? i think the temp went up in the k5 too.
I've actually had fine luck with the chain auto parts store copper/brass replacements.
I believe Summit sells some pretty nice aluminum drop ins. You might try a search on here, I know it's come up a few times and folks have posted some pretty good info.
I got my most recent one at either autozone or advanced auto. I can't remember, they are literally 3 doors down from each other. but I compared pricing and materials from lots of places. they had the best price, it was in stock, and no crappy plastic ends.
you might look into finding a radiator from another year with the same measurements that doesnt come with plastic tanks. might need to do some mounting mods.
