yeah read the title i bought one and i need the vin to make sure they match
The only VIN is on the cab, at the bottom left corner of the winshield in the dash.
are you sure ? i was told by a CHP that there was one on the frame also and thats how they checked if it was stolen , cuz the thieves down here would swap 2wd and 4wd parts and so on .
Thats what they say, buts its a lie.Call GM thye will tell you the same thing.
I believe there are VIN numbers on the frame. I was just reading on the net about a guy who did a hummer kit and when he cleaned and painted his suburban frame he took a close up of the VIN stamp. I have not looked for them on my truck though. I can find the web page tomorrow - I'll post it back here.
Every GM truck that I've owned, had a VIN code on frame, just next to P/S pump.In fact every vehicle here in Finland that has VIN code stamped on plate, riveted to body, has also it stamped on frame/body.That way it's easier to check that vehicle really is what papers say.
THANKS MAN /forums/images/icons/smile.gif my buddy came by today and he showed me that there is one on the frame under the doors.
