Which carb should I get?

It's been my experience that the factory Q-Jet is one of the better carburetors out there for all around drivnig and reliability. If it's old, a thorough cleaning and rebuild may be in order but that's pretty much it. Every single Q-jet equipped rig I've wheeled with had zero carb issues at all. I just got my first K20 and I have no plans to swap out the Q-Jet until I do an engine swap in a few years.

I had an old Jeep Grand Wagoneer and I put a Holley Truck Avenger on it. Ran almost as well as fuel injection. I put that truck at some pretty good angles and it ran just the same as it did on flat ground. Though I've wheeled with people who have other Holley carbs (i.e. not Truck Avengers) and they were terrible off road.

I've heard from one person that the Edelbrock "Off Road" carburetor is good but I have no way to confirm that. Beyond that, I wouldn't even consider any other Edelbrock for off road use. They just can't handle the angles at all, even with the "off road kit" (which is nothing more than spring loaded needles and seats).

I originally ran a rochester q-jet and it worked great off-road but it was old and then started leaking really bad so I picked up a brand new Edelbrock Performer and it ran awesome until I tried to go up a hill, or I hit a bump... Also when they die and get flooded they are a B*tch to get started again! They will go up any hill backward tho(only know from experience from otherwise being stuck going forward). I was then going to get TPI becuase I have a thing for corvettes and u can get a lot of power out of it, but it was ganna cost me about $800 and a lot of time. So I watched ebay for about a month for a Holley Truck Avenger 670 cfm and after loosing a couple of bids I finally won one for $162!!!! Bolted it on, fired right up, and it can take on anything I can throw at it!!!

By far the best carb on the market as far as dependability and price go!

How much is involved in converting? How much$$$???
It's fairly common to find all of the stock conversion parts for sale together in the neighborhood of $200-300. The question is, can you install it all yourself? Its not that hard, hardest part being the wiring. There are a lot of folks here to help you through it though.

But, for the easy cold starts, no flooding, and overall driveability its worth it.

ever have the holley ta stumble issue?

Hasent stumbled yet! My performer was horrible with stumbling so even if the holley did once I wouldnt care haha. My engine is also basically stock besides a Performer intake. So I havent had to mess with jets or anything.
