I am kind of torn. I have a 1972 chevelle and I had a blow out the other day that messed up my fender so I am going to have it repainted. I figure while I have them working on it I will buy a cowl hood and have it painted also. so here are some pics the first is my 72 as it sets, then the two chooses.

The real cowl hood look's soooooooo much better!!!!

make it funcitional and you score evan more points!!:waytogo:

I'd have too go with the 4" cowl hood. Be even cooler if you could add the flapper to it. :D

Sorry Paul but I won't be wacking a hole in a 500 dollar hood.

plus the cost of a complete flapper assembly... :wink1:

after owning a 1/2 dozen Chevelles, i'm kinda partial to the stock setup.. really depends on how snotty a look your trying get.. they're both cool..

everytime that stock flapper setup opens, ya just smile to yourself...

I'd definatly go with the factory 2.5" cowl!!!
they look way cleaner and the flapper is awesome :cool1:

Go with the flapper so you can pop wood everytime you see it open.

I had a couple 71's with the 4inch cowl, and I still always wanted the factory flapper hood.

in the 1970 to 1972 there was a little door in the cowl of the hood that would open up when you put the pedal to the floor.:D

this is at SS hood with the flapper hole.
