Which IFS lift?

i know a few ppl that have had some sucsess with it but just wanted to share some other sides so he can play the feild ya know

as i see it there are 3 kinds of lifts, full drops, full drop knuckle kits, and a standard knuckle kit: the full drop drops everything, UCAs LCAs, steering, diff all 6"... full drop knuckle drops the LCA, and diff 6", the UCA and steering stays in the stock local a 6" knuckle is provided still keeping evering thing in the same plane of travel in relationship to eachother... a standard knuckle drops the LCA 6", the diff 4.5" and the steering and UCA in the stock local with a 6" knuckle putting the cv shafts in a different plane of travel

you can crank a full drop lift to 7.5" and the angles will be the same as a standard knuckle kit set at 6"

get a solid axle in it and dont look back.

no offence but a truck like his I really hope will not ever need a solid axle or have a use for it. I love the way my truck rides, its an 07 for christ sake and i cant see a need, even thought its temping to swap a solid under there..its

wheelers are wheelers.. and nice trucks are drivers/tow rigs and work trucks..unless you are a paid to test the durability of sheetmetal..it aint worth it. At least her in az I feel that I am right. maybe where its mostly jjust roads or mud mud it would make more sence on a nice truck?

a solid axel on my truck would be just one more nail in the coffin before this thing would get scrapped..it would be a death wish for sure:D

there is a guy who uses our service department that is running 315's on stock suspension. he cranked the bars and trimmed the airdam. 305's on a 8" rim will fit without any trimming but you will probably need to crank the bars.

then when you want to go to a bigger tire you can spend the money on a lift. Do not buy the keys. Its the same as cranking your bars. only difference is you can go further with them. which will make your ride really stiff and fatigue the bars over time. A good friend of mine has replaced a set of torsion bars already. He has a 1990 with a 6" superlift and the bars cranked all the way with cut out flares and a 3" body lift to clear 40's. Never sees 4wd anymore but still wears front end parts.

Update

Well I finally spent some $$. Bought BFG T/A KM LT255/85R16Ds. 33+ inches. No trimming, no rubbing, just T-bar crank and an alignment.

Oh hoel yes. I have to wait a bit to 1: find some cash, 2: get a Rancho 4", just to get belly clearance.
I think.:doah:

Woohoo.
I was surfing "The Diesel Place" and discovered Cognito finally has a 4-6 inch kit.
So thats it, Cognito 4-6 kit, Deavers (maybe), Bilsteins.

Hey supersize, your truck has just the look to it I want, whatcha got? 6" RCD, but what's the wheel and tire combo you're running? I really like the looks of it. Thanks!:D
