Looking at the ingersoll rand 2135ti, has 750ft max and 2 year full warranty. I want good quality and high torque. Snap-on and mac are just out of price range. Looking to spend around $250. Any suggestions?

That is going to be my next air gun. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

I am super happy with my thunder gun... It's awesome. The sound alone makes it seem like you are doing something serious in the shop!

The IR titanium series ones are awesome! When I worked at the Ford dealer they bought us lube techs a pair of them (I forget the part number) because our impacts were too loud. The were nice and light, well balanced, and more power than our personal impacts

I have a 1/2" Mac I bought used, looks identical to a regular IR, check Northern tool out, alot of times they have decent deals on them.

I wouldnt bother with Snap On or Mac, like you said, too spendy for only the name, The only reason I bought mine (Mac) was that it was $50 used from the tool truck, seems to be getting a little tired lately, but that happens.

An IR Thunder gun would be sweet too.

snap-on good stuff. i had a few over the years. only reason swaped was better / more power .

but i have all ir now and thay work great and weight is lighter so less in your hand for better feel .

i also had a ir thunder gun for over 6 years all orignal no parts needed. that thing was loud but would eat almost anything @ 120 psi.

Had very good luck with a cornwall impact. Used it religious for three years with no issue. I don't remember what model it is but it was only about 200 bucks.

impact

I wouldn't hesitate on buying another 2135ti. I have had mine for years and run it at 145psi, I had to put $25 worth of parts into it the other day but thats it.The trigger quit working and there is a little metal pin that lets air in when the trigger is pressed and it fatigued and broke. It was easy to replace.

good guns. if you get the 2135qti then you get the quiet version. makes almost as much power as the normal one. the ONLY reason i don't sell IR guns, is due to the fact we must be set up with the WORST IR repair facility in existence. They will send a gun back in a bag, in pieces in a box and say it's not worth fixing...

oops i fixed the "i would hesitate" part. i love my 2135ti.

oh ya and my friend who use to work at ir said all the aluminum based air tools are china stuff now. NOT usa made like before.

he did say the composite and i think the titanium is still usa made.

I believe your friend is correct. Definitely a change in the quality of the 231 in the last 6 years or so.

New I would get a few responses. Doesn.t the titanium quiet have less torque? Compared stats, the 2135ti max quiet has 335ft lbs reverse vs 780ft lbs with the regular 2135ti max.
Now I need to figure out some decent sockets that I "can" afford. $250 bucks on a impact gun I inderstand. But $380 for 14 sockets, fn crazy.

I have a 2135 and I love it, used daily for about 5 yrs. I have repaired it a couple times myself, very easy to work on. I also have an old IR234, also a great gun, similar to the Thunder gun. The 234 is strong, but loud and heavy also, great back up. I would go for a 2135, they pop up on CL fairly cheap from time to time.

IR is the only way to fly on impacts. Do a search for gray pneumatic sockets. I sold piles of them and they hold up realllly well. Lifetime warranty too. They never gave me any problems with warranty either.
