i'm going to try and trade my Grand Am off tomorrow on a 90 K1500, which i plan to convert to a straight axle front, and a 14SF rear (8 lug). i'd like to use a 14SF from a K2500 truck or burb, to keep things simple, but i'd also like to convert it to rear discs. anybody out there got a kit? what rotors and calipers does it use?

black widow is the only one that i know of that sells a kit specificly for the 14bsf. the thing i don't like about that kit is it puts the disks inside of the axle shaft, making the rear axle about 3/4-1" narrower than it was. with the backspacing of the wheels i have, the difference stock is very noticable, i don't want to add to it.

im going to be maing my own disk brakes for my 14bsf, the 14bff brackets are the same, just spaced alot less than the 14bsf needs to be.

Aren't rear disks stock in many of them starting around 2000? I'd think that would be the best idea, bolt in regarding axle dimensions, plus stock brake stuff.

Of course, that just assumes everything body/frame wise for cables and what not didn't change. :)

I did a set for a guy and made a new flange for the axle to be welded on. No spacers were then required. Not a bad way to go.
