I am putting a 572 in my 91 Burb and I am having problems finding a decent header. I found one Hedman number that might work 69820....but it has small primaries. Does anybody make a header for these trucks in a 4x4 application that is 2" or bigger? It is also a tall deck.

Not sure who makes them bigger than 2" right off the bat. Would need to get out my catalogs and browse around.

More details and specs on the 572. Besides the tall deck, I know the bore and stroke are 4.500" and 4.500". How long of rod are you using? What kind of dome on the pistons? What kind of oil pan are you using and is it cleared for the crank/rod throws? What are you using for the intake? Is it the tall deck type or does it have spacers sandwiched between them?

might have to get the flange and make a set if you want them bigger than 2" to fit your frame design...

If I can find 2" that will be fine for what I am doing. All i can find is 1 3/4 primaries.

wimpy wimpy wimpy :haha: Im running 1 7/8s on my small block car. Dad always ran the 2 1/8 on the big block car, but then again it was a 12.5:1 open chamber 454 with a tunnel ram and twin 750 holleys... .she went :o

Im thinking customs gonna be your only route, typically big headers aren't made for trucks, just my experience.

Headers meant for a Nova or Chevelle may work, I know you can get those in large and larger sizes.

In the same boat here. Need some 2" primaries for the Ramjet 502 that is going in my crew cab. Only thing that I have found is the Hooker Super Comps in 1 7/8" for a 4WD application. They make 2" for a 2WD, but not sure if they will fit.

Run some Zoomies or tractor headers, even boat headers. I've seen those up to 2.25".

I recall on Extreme 4x4, the project S-10 truggy they ran Hooker super comp shorties, but not sure what size they were. It had a 502 in it.
