Will a 67-68 hood fit?

I have noticed that the hood from 67 and 68 is a lot more streamlined. I like the look. The question is, will it fit? I think the fenders are the same, so you'd think the hood will fit. While I am on the subject of fenders. Does anyone know the laws pertaining to side marker lights. I have also noticed that there are no side markers on 67-68 fenders. Would that be legal if I put them on my 72 K5? Any help would be appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I believe the radiator support has to be changed to run the 67-68 hood. I know this has been discussed over at www.67-72chevytrucks.com in the 67-72 message board forum.

The fenders are actually different. You'd basically need the whole front clip ie, fenders, hood, core support, grille. I'm sure you could make it work if you've got some great bodywork skills. I've considered a '68 front clip swap myself but I've got money to spend on other places in my beast first.

it is the whole front clip you'd have to replace. shouldn't be hard to do if you wanted to do it. just unplug one, unbolt and replace.

69-72 chevy fenders are double lip front,
67-72 gmc fenders and 67 68 chevy fenders are single lip front

67 68 gmc and chevy hoods go with the 67 68 chevy and 67-72 gmc fenders

67 68 chevy gmc hood and 67-72 gmc fenders only work with the 67 68 chevy and 67-72 gmc rad supports

unless you break out grinder and welder and such

also 67 68 gmc grille top filler bar is not same as 69-72 one, so to use 69-72 hood with 67 68 gmc grille or 67 68 hood with 67 68 gmc grille then you need ot swap grille top filler piece and also center support pieces

a 68 with missing side markers is not a 68
only 68-up gm trucks and other makes models too were required by feds ot have sidemarker lights starting for 68 and no later than 68

so if you see a vehicle with not side markers then its most likely a 67 older
