Well since I just got the truck running, it's time to start a build thread of my progress throughout these past few months of having my k5 blazer. I hope you guys enjoy! Well first it all started by my father-n-law getting this truck from a buddy at work for 600 bucks...The truck ran but had a bad freeze plug in the worn out 305 in it...By the way the truck came with a newly rebuilt 350:waytogo: The truck sat and sat for about a year until he finally sold it to me for 850 bucks. And then the work began! Here is a pic of how I got it...yes I know scary right?!

Next was Cleaning out the back and Pushing it into the driveway...One tire held air for about 15 seconds and by the time we pushed it out the tire was completely flat:haha: Well next comes the most time consuming part of the build so far and that was prepping the motor and stabbing it in there :D

Next I found a sweet set of 33X12.5XR15 set of BF Goodrich Mud Terrains that I stuck on there. The back ones were brand new and the fronts have 90% tread I would say:saweet:

At this point the motor was stabbed but not running b/c of wiring, belts, pulleys, etc...It was a weekend with father-n-law at deer lease and brother busy so I made myself useful and got rid of the carpet and replaced it with bedliner...Did a good job except the gunk off the wheel wells just would not come off so may get a grinder and redo that but for now it looks pretty sharp..Here was the process:tongue1:

Here are pics after brackets, hoses, and wires were hooked up (well the important ones)...Still no go. Wasn't getting spark. Fixed that...Still no go. Turned out my brothers friend put on the spark plug wires all wrong so it was the firing order...After that it started right up(without even giving it gas) and idled nicely. Still there was a small gas leak at the carb and water leak out of water pump.

And last but not least it idling two nights ago (the first start)...Sounds pretty good:D Fixed the gas leak tonight and water pump will be done Sunday! Will keep you guys posted step by step as I should be done this week fixin it up the way I want it for a while atleast...Will be getting radio hooked up, motor all finished up, paint, rebel flag headliner :waytogo:, and cutting the fenders slightly:hack::chainsaw2::chainsaw::weapon10:

Eleventy billion threads on this rig... And we finally get some pics.. Yay :D:popcorn:

Made some progress today, installed the billet grill and the rebel flag headliner:waytogo: Will post pics tomorrow

Fenders slightly trimmed, Water pump done, Speakers in custom boxes (custom as in homemade)! Tomorrow we are capping off all vacuum leaks, installing air filter and fan shroud, and hookup the radio, and break in the cam. To do list for next week: clean blazer, and take it to the paint shop, break in the motor completely, and then the project is DONE!:woot: Oh wait...They are never done:haha: Well anyways I owe you guys some pics so I will be uploading them up soon :D Finally I can take it out to the lease next weekend and do some wheelin!

Nothing extreme, just to have a cool truck to drive around town but mainly for getting me around the deer lease. Basically to get me from trailer to pond with a 12 pack and some jams goin while I fish:cool1::cool1::cool1: As far as things to do...Paint job, 2-4 inch lift, and other than that just making it nice. Once this motor poops out though, I will be out of college and then I am thinking Cummins!
