the motor has a bolt at the output shaft there is a pivit point below that where it broke. is this a common problem?,or do i have to go to the junkyard and pull
some parts. never had one break like this.

i would take pics but we have had 2 inch's of rain since 6 and still raining.
thanks in advance

if you need to pull parts fyi there is 2 bolt and 3 bolt style piviot point were the arm shaft is mounted to the cowl area.

that's what i was going to see tomorrow when it not raining, thanks.

is there anyway to repair it or am i s.o.l.

let me see if i can fix it in the morning then ill get back to you. Thanks again.

:doah:want to kick myself, the stupid nut fell of. he rain let up and i grabbed a good flashlight and its just came lose. it sucks cause i put blue lock tight on it when i changed it.:doah::doah:

Fixed it this morning, I found three of the four coats i have are not water resistance and suck.

I've had the wipers die in the middle of a monsoon before when I was in my dads '68 Chevelle wagon, that "clamp" with the 2 nuts that secures the ball stud on the motor to the wiper linkages failed..

I was able to limp to a parts store, they told me it was a "dealer only" part..
I knew there was a junkyard down the street from the store, they suggested I try there..

I got one off a Impala that was the same--the guy at the junkyard saw how soaked I was--he felt bad for me and said "I'd take off those wet shirts and dry off ,or else you'll be sick tomorrow"--he then handed me a large plastic trash bag out of the box that fits a 55 gallon drum, and said "here--poke a hole in the bottom in the middle for your head to fit through, and one on each side for your arms"--it made a dam good poncho!..when I came back with the parts, the guy just laughed and said "take it-you've had a bad enough day already!"..

I now carry one or more of those big "contractor" garbage bags in all my vehicles now,you never know when you'll need a raincoat or have to lie on wet ground if you have trouble on the road...I carry one in my pocket at outdoor concerts or other events too..

did this in a jeep once 150 miles from home and raining the real pain is when the throttle cable broke broke glad i had string in the tool box.

did kinda look funny though, I was operating the throttle and my buddy opperating the wipers....

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Manual wipers - for those of you who hate electrical gadgets and like converting to manual (i.e. electric windows).

Note to self :

Put bottle of Rain-X in truck's glove box !..

I've had a bottle of it sitting in my garage for years..great place for it if my wipers decide to take a dump in a thunderstorm!..:surepal:..
