I modeled the bracket in 3d on AutoCAD... Kert fabbed it to those specs.

Would it be cool with you if I got Kert to make me those bad boys? It'll be during the summer though, when I've got surplus funds for my K10 build...

Doesn't make a difference to me... you know what they say about immitation and flattery. :thumb:

I have the ord shackles on my crewcab, and they work really well. Im thinking of going with DIY on my blazer. Im in napa too, so if ya need a hand let me know.

Awesome design JEK :D I voted for DIY4X also. I've NEVER heard of anyone complain about his products.

so, are people not voting for sky because they haven't tried them or because the sky flip uses the stock shackle instead of a beefy replacement shackle?

i vote NONE

i personally don't like the way they all hang down so low, more stuff to drag along the rocks, and i have seen it happen alot.

I haven't had any issues with my lift blocks yet, but if i were to do a better lift, i would just get the correct lift srpings for my application, keep everything nice and tucked up where it's supposed to be :D

hmm, must hang lower than the pic makes it look. that could be a problem.

You're saying lift blocks are better than a shackle? Do you know how much akwards stress is in lift blocks?

Also black widow has a sick shackle flip! That's the one I'll be getting.

trade in those 35s for some 44s and you won't have that problem. :thumb: With 56s flipped short-side-back I'll have almost a 90 degree departure angle with Kert's flip. That ain't bad for a leaf-sprung rig.

i think i misunderstood him. i thought he was referring to the sky brand flip, specifically, since they have that large brace section udnerneath. i still can't imagine that hanging on rocks, though.

and yeah, the black widow flip looks freaking sweet. i'd like to know if the base one comes with shackles, though. the other two listed on the page mention the shackle lengths with them, but the first listed makes no mention of shackles being included.

.
I am not, and did not say lift blocks are better than a shackle flip, i am saying i don't like the way the shackles hang down so low after the process is completed...

I said blocks have worked just fine for my rig for the past 4 or so years now, and i have wheeled it pretty good in the rocks (the sheetmetal will tell you this :doah: )

but personally, i would just get the full on spring lift,,,,,i would have originally if i had the cash at the time the lift was done.

Uh yeah,,,I don't think so,:p: this is also my daily driver, and yeah i realize some guys out there drive their rigs with 44's or bigger tires, that's just not my thing. 35's are about the largest tire that is going on this Burb.

If i ever decide to build a dedicated trail rig, then maybe some bigger tires on that...:D

You aren't affraid of the arch that's going to have?

not at all, especially for a 4" lift? even a 6" lift i have seen is still pretty clean looking. You get those massive arches when you go with BIG lifts :p:

get some people to post up rear side shots of trucks with shackle flips, and some to post up the same shot with spring lifts, you will see what i am referring to with the shackle hanging down.

again, i am not saying it doens't work, just not my preferrence.:o

I'm aware of that crap sticking out (it is a pain in the ass) i just have this habbit of rolling of dropoffs and flat springs seem to help

that's where i use my frame mounted trailer hitch :D :D :haha: :p:
