I need to purchase a winch. What do you guys recommend I get for a 83 k5 blazer with 3/4 ton rear end dana 60 up front.

go with at least the warn hs9,500i or better i have the xd9,000i and it has been great for me but the hs9,500i is way faster /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

If you can afford it, go for the biggest warn you can fit
If you need speed go for the HS ones
If you need multimount get an integrated solenoid one
If you're a poor broke bastard buy the MM E12000 or a used Warn
I haven't looked into Ramsey much

I have been Running a mile marker 9000 for about 1 and a half years. It has held up great under some serious abuse and was very cost effective. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yeah I have the 12000 and I hope it works as great as I hop... wait that was redundant, or..... self defeating.... or some wierd english law breaking thing.....

Warn 9.5ti or 16.5ti if you have the cash. The 9.5ti replaced the hs9.5. I saw this winch in action a lot this weekend and it rocked. It's very fast and should move your Blazer around without a problem. Give Tim with 4x4Iron.com a call. He has 3 or 4 of the 9.5ti's in stock and can make you a great deal on one. His number is 512-626-2161. I believe his prices are between $100-$200 less than 4 wheel parts.

I have the MM E-12000, I hope it works out good for me. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Price sure did, and it's better than no winch at all.

I had a 3.6 hp Ramsey 8000. Worked ok with worn 36 TSL radials. Almost left me stranded w/ 38.5 SX's. New Warn 12K does the trick every time so far. By the way for me the 12k was beter than the 15K because of the extra 35 feet of cable. The Warn makes the Ramsey seem like a kids toy.
