Lots do, look at the BB09 pics and Scott's is in there Willard has lots of pictures too. Not sure anybody wheels one that still has its bedsides though.

Yeah, I have seen (and appreciate) the Williard one. I probably should, but I like to use it as a pickup yet (I live on a farm), and it is also entertaining listening to people tell me it is too big, and won't work. Sometimes the length actually helps me.

Well since the end of the bed is shot at least by the lights you could bob is and still have a decent size bed.

The whole body is "shot", but I don't like nice bodies. They make me feel bad when I beat them up. Actually, the bed is literally shot, one of the bedsides has a bullet hole in it. Not sure why, it was there when I bought it.

One of these days when I get my crew cab done I hope and get some body armor built for it I plan on wheeling some light trails with it. Want to go to moab with it too, which won't be hard cause it will be my tow rig, so if I am in Moab it will be there too

See, I still use the bed.

What's with the twin tie-rods? :wink1:

I took it down the road after I installed the Hi-steer, and had some serious death wobble. I then bolted the OEM tie rod back in, so I had a steering stabilizer. I have since built a mount for the steering stabilizer coming off of the driver side spring U-bolts. When I finish it up, I will take some pictures (with only one tie rod . . . ) and post them up. I was wondering how long it would be before someone noticed that.

Yeah, I fixed it. By reinstalling the OEM steering stabilizer. I plan on adding hydraulic assist eventually to replace the steering stabilizer. How is it masking it? It came that way from the factory. It never had death wobble until I removed the OEM steering stabilizer, and it went away again, as soon as I reinstalled the OEM stabilizer.

It's masking it because it shouldn't have death wobble even with the OEM stabilizer gone... It was just hiding...

The reason a rig gets death wobble is because of improper Ackerman angle...

When you lift a truck, a lot of the time you'll change the Ackerman angle without knowing it...

That truck is Brutal:waytogo: (I liked the original "rust on white"-paint better though ;))
You have to promise not to cut the bed, or shorten the frame :D

I'll throw my 2cents into the death-wobble/ackerman discussion.
I believe the steering stabilizers main purpose is to save the steering components from heavy shockloads.
But it can also improve some wobble-issues, but as dirtygoat says it's not the lack of stabilizer that causes the problem.
It's mainly worn out ball-joints/kingpins, TRE, DLE, steeringbox, rag-joints, too little caster-angle, etc, etc

But I seriously doubt that ackerman would affect this.
Ackerman is how the toe-out increases the more of center you steer,
and is decided by the angle af the steering arms

And ORD if one of very few, if not the only manufacturer that takes that into consideration when they design their steering arms.
(When the tie-rod is in front of the axle, the TRE-joints should be offset outwards towards the wheels, instead of inwards as in the picture)

Many manufacturers actually places the TRE:s offset toward the inside, even if it's in front of the axle.
And that gives you more toe-in when cornering, which really sucks.

But you could get serious problem with binding If ORD doesn't use the exact same same ackerman angle as the stock spindles does,
when you use both Tie-rods at the same time

Damn, your John-Deere is bigger than mine:o

Great explanation of Ackerman... But, if you look he is running his high steer in front and the new arms are closer together changing the Ackerman on his truck... I know, death wobble is one of those thing that can be argued until the cows come home... And it can come from a number of things acting together... With the kit he put on he has new TREs and DLEs... I was just wondering if he figured out what was causing it...

Don't take it the wrong way Martin, I'm not bagging on you or your rig... I like the direction you're going with it...

That is a little John Deere.

Here is the old man's 4955, with an 880 Brent Grain Cart.

I took this one the other day, to show how tall our corn is this year, it is kind of ridiculous.

I hear what you are saying, and I know there is wear. Probably in the kingpins. The thing I am saying is that it annoys me when people say not to use a steering stabilizer. It is an OEM feature, and it is preventing the death wobble, then it isn't a very serious case of death wobble.

As for the direction I am going, thank you. It is kind of fun, because everyone tells me it is too big, and won't work as an offroad rig. The last time we went to Tuttle Creek in Kansas, a buddy of ours went with a Samurai. He was impressed with the full size Chevy's.
