what is this?
I couldn't buy it! I'd be playing with it, I'm the guy that took the original mint on card starwars toys out and played with them! I still have them too!
I'm pretty sure it's a toyota hilux with a chevy body. EXTREMELY disirable because of the detail. Have ujoints, leaf springs, tranny with 3 speed and reverse, etc. New in box brings about 1500$ yes it is I just read the ebay post again. The hilux toy bodys have all kinds of stuff side mirrors rollbars inside mirrors door handles ..pretty cool! Look one up on ebay see what you find.
I will send it to a guy I know and see what he says. Knows all about them.
/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gifthat thing is badass!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
That thing is badass !!!!! I just don't have the money to spend on it right now.
I don't like the body. It disturbs me when something is awesome underneath, but misproportioned on the outside. Like the funky tailights, cheesy looking rollcage in place of pillars...
Underneath, it's pretty awesome, though...
It is a Tamiya Blazin' Blazer. I believe it was the second in the line of Tamiya three-speed trucks. The Hilux was first, then the Blazer, the Bruiser (the most popular by far), and then later the Mountaineer. I have a bruiser myself, with a body from a Clodbuster (80-87 Chevy truck/forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif), that I love, what could be cooler, a functional scale model of my truck, with real leaf springs, and a shiftable trans.
R/C's are my second hobby (or first, I have been doing them longer)
Not a bad price. My wife gave me permission to buy one last year if I could find it for under a grand. No luck yet, I've wanted one of those since a buddy of mine got one in jr. high. That thing was kick A$$
