I'm about to get my exhaust done. Going to run shorty headers, 2 into 1 flowmaster y-pipe collector. 3inch cat and flowmaster muffler.

Want/need pictures of how people are running the y-pipe from the passenger side over to the drivers side.

Thanks guys

Click on the link in my sig labeled "BUILD", starting at post #328 there are pics of my exhaust (454 w/ shortys, 2.5" "Y" into a drivers side 3" single tailpipe with a Magnaflow muffler).

thanks John.

Thats about what i want. I'm not sure i'll be able to run my passenger side that close to the bell housing without a huge lift.

I'll see if i can find a pic of how my exhaust runs now.

I used block huggers, and I ran my pipe under the oil pan and out the driver's side.

Here is my current y-pipe set-up. It hangs way to low for me. I'm only planning on a 2-3 inch lift.

I have the Flowmaster collector sitting in the garage. I just had my trans cooler lines tucked up closer to the engine to make room under the oil pan. I'm running the same set up. (y pipe to a 3" single)

I'm taking it in on Thursday or maybe sooner. (if I still have this cold, I'm not going into work) I'm running my passenger side pipe back towards the front of the motor and under the oil pan. I have a bolt in crossmember that gives me plenty of room. From there it will come down the driver side, hit up the collector, and on to the 3" cat and flowmaster 50. From there I'm not sure, maybe tail pipe in factory location.

having a hard time looking at your pictures Ryan22. It's like 2 different trucks. OMG driver side starter and axle drop? Or something... my head hurts, must be the NyQuil.

I flipped one of the pics by accident.

It's a passenger drop with the exhaust down the driver's side.

If I had to do it again, I'd have used some rams horns manifolds instead of the block huggers.

My shorty header are NOT block hugger, they are the stock replacment type. the the passenger side exit is behind the starter. I might have to have the pass side pipe run backwards a little bit and have it run under the bell houseing.

I just went out and gave it a look over.

Now i think i might need todo the lift first, :dunno: :woot: :D

Run a block hugger on the passenger side and a shorty style on the driver's. Not much room on the passenger side with the driveshaft there.

you must have mirrored it, cause the damn starter is facing the same way. OO God that picture is driving me crazy :haha:

The block hugger on the Pass side sounds like a good idea, if I didn't already have new headers I would. If 1leg has old headers, now might be the time to change the one at least.

I love this forward routing, but only if you have the room of course. I'm not sure if the front axle will kiss the exhaust or not, I doubt it. Especially if it's lifted.

Ryan22: How do you like the exhaust wrap? I have a roll in my garage, was going to use on my quad, but thinking of using it all on my blazer. (keep cab cooler and quieter) Any rust or other problems?

brand new headers! I needed them to be smog legal, so block huggers would not work for me.

I spend some time here an there on fullsizebronco.com, and those guys swear by that flowmaster Y collector for replacing the factory Ypipe.

Here's mine but I still have stock manifolds. Im using the same Merge pipe as you.

The truck is going to the spring shop tomorrow for custom springs with about 2-3 inch lift. Then next week it will go to the muffle shop for a custom exhaust system. He will run the passenger side pipe just above the front drive shaft(under the bell housing). I'll post pics next week.
