its been alittle while but finally got it rolling again. update includes d60 front, 14bff rear, detroit, 4.56 gears, 15x14 wheels with 44x19.5 boggers, shackle flip with 7ish inch shackles (ditched the blocks), and 6" front shackles. i still have to swap my 2wd steering box in and get my crossover going, but its comming along.

I'm also thinking some fender trimming, if you expect any flex at all :eek: ... or is this strictly a mud duck truck?

yeah, alittle mud, moslty pulling. im looking into fiberglass flare/bulge fenders that have more clearance built into them.

nah, you want it higher for pulling. it pulls down on the rear of the truck and kinda simulates adding weight to the truck.

Those tires will rub even wheeling on a curb at the mall

:eek1: :doah::rolleyes:

When you say "pulling", do you mean like towing a trailer on the road ... or are you talking about tractor pull competition sort of thing? Please tell us it's the latter. :crazy:

As for flex, the front looks particularly prone to rub, depending on how stiuff your front springs are. Carnac The Magnificent says that you're going to have to cut, even you spend a ton of money on fiberglass fenders. (Be cheaper to cut up a set of steelies!)

Don't mean to talk smack on your truck ... she is purty and certainly has the basics down. (I'm not a fan of the moonvisor, but that's a personal thing :) ) Good call on dumping the blocks, btw, and on crossover. Both very worthwhile!

You still are going to need a hell of a drop hitch. Most pulling organizations have a limited hitch height anywhere between 22-28 inches. And alot of places limit the size of the tire too.

Blazer and truck pulling should not be used in the same sentence. A blazer is way to short for it. That is why you mostly see reg cab long beds pulling.

the local club i belong to is basically open. only rules are that it has to be inspected and street driven. as far as blazer compared to pickups, i like the challenge of trying to make it pull like a long bed. thats my goal. :D

Good lookin blaze man! Have you considered hydro assist or the proper gears before you start pullin?

Good luck with that.

i already have 4.56 gears. it should low enough. hydro assist would be alittle overkill for me i think. btw, motor is next on the list, so ill get alittle more power.

Nice 1/2 ton with upgraded axles :waytogo:

I was thinking the same exact thing. The laws of physics makes it impossible to build a Blazer that can tow and haul the weight a 1 ton is rated for.

Sweet 1/2ton K5 Blazer with a D60 and 14BFF.:thumb:

As for the sled pulling, it's a fun hobby, but to be competitive a blazer really isn't a good choice. If you are having a blast though, then that is what counts!:D
