Im starting a york 210 compressor install and was wondering about the oil fix I have read about. Ive read alot about just going in and plugging the oil way to the suction side so I did. Then i ran across some posts saying if you do that then you need to vent the crank case.

I was wondering how many have done this without venting the case or if you did how did you?
Ive heard that If you got one of those unloader check valves that will do the trick but wasnt sure.

Or if im using a filter anyway does it really matter if I plug the hole or not?

I plugged the passage that's near the crank, didn't do the one in the head. Still blows oil through the lines, and seeps out the case. Didn't vent the case though, I may try that eventually.

yes im am aware of how to do the fix. I have done it but was going to undo it I was thinking because of the venting issues. From what I understand plugging that galley will close the crankcase off so you would have to vent it from the fill plugs or perhaps a unloader check will work but wanst sure. Was thinking since I was using a filter anyway screw it and leave the galley open unless someone had some more insight to this.

I used this mod....

Uses the suction side rather than the return side.

I haven't vented the case. I don't have any oil, anymore, coming from the York. I check the filter regularly too.

Good luck
Yep, that's the one I did, right next to the crank. Still get blowby though, but not nearly as much as there was before. I don't have a filter though, so it all builds up in my lines, and actually ate through the polypropylene lines that go to my air horn. It's caused a blow out a couple times, still need to switch those to copper one of these days.

well it looks like alot of you just plugged the hole and thats it. seems to work for you ok. Ill stop worry about it and plug it and go. thanks
