You guys with boatsides...

This is the general idea of what I'm doing. As you can see in my pictures, the whole rocker area is trashed. The floorboards are also gone. What I'm looking for is pictures of how you guys re-built where the cab mount is. I'm thinking about getting some material about the same size as the factory cab mount but thicker, and then tieing it into the tube in the rocker to make everything a little stronger. Doing something similar on the back (even thought the mounts are inboard of the frame). I know I'll have something below the floorboards (which I'll be replacing with a heavier materail of some kind) but I don't see any problems as alot of the pictures/threads you linked had just tubes down below. Thanks for the good picture threads man!

So no one else has pictures of how their stuff is tied into the body mounts?

Here's mine after old sluice on the Rubicon - notice the rust/bondo/plastic/unfinshed slider meets really big rock.

I will next week. I found my whole body was so bad it was flexing all over on the trail. So I'm putting the cage to the frame after I do the rub rail/ boatsides. then the cage will be tied to the body.

Heres mine, I wish I had more pics. Its 2 x 4 x .125 rect tube, tied down to the frame with 1.5 x1.5x .125 square tube, plated with .125 plate.
My front body mount is gone, as its tied to the frame solid. The cage, seat mounts, and new custom floor are all tied into the boatsides.

I love mine, especially in tight places in off camber situations, normally my rocker would get hung on something, only disadvantage is no doors, but some tube doors are in the future.

Not a good pic but an idea

This is before I had a front locker or crossover , but see what they can take , you can hear it from 30 feet away .

This is some thick wall ( like .250 eyeballing it ) 2x3 from some construction site a friend took home , that butts up to the sill plate . I cut everything from under the sill plate down . Your rusty and may have the slider be the sill plate

Still can run stock doors with the bottom edges intact :D

Any chance you guys could post up some pics of the cab with the boatsides?
I'm kinda curious how drastic it changes the seat mounting and interior dimensions.

i know this is extremely old but i just found some uhwm for cheap. when doing boatsides does everyone just weld them solid to the cab? im torn between welding it to the cab or just simply cutting the cab and putting them in. either option will be tied to frame cage etc.

Weld them to the cab. If you just cut the cab you will lose alot of the structure support. Mine are 3x3 square 1/4" wall and I have hit them hard more times then I care to count.
