I had grown up with Mustangs old Fords and a 68 Nova which was my daily driver for 12 years. I eventually found myself with new cars, what I call throwaway cars. Now I’m 50 and back into the old V8’s. It’s been about 20 years and I’m realizing that I don’t have the skills or ambition that
A - Youth brought
B - Being mostly broke brought.
During the pandemic, I sold my beloved 4Runner and bought an over priced 82 Blazer. It did have a rebuilt motor and rebuilt transmission, but it had been sitting for years. Aside from that, it was missing a lot. A lot of which I didn’t even realize at the time. Additionally, somebody had cut a sunroof into the top. All I’ll say is measure twice, cut once! I was looking for a challenge and I got one. Within the first 10 months, I put about $13,000 into it. Some cosmetics and mechanical. A comprehensive list is noted below. I’m Including this just because I find it interesting. Unless you are a real do it yourself-er, a shop may be part of your story too. This is now my daily driver and at 9 miles a gallon I love it. I drive all over the place at six bucks a gallon!

-Shop - Carb adjust and lights repair. Installed new dash circuit board. All dash lights, blinkers, flashers, tail, brake, marker and headlights are now fully functional Labor $400
