Restomod build for a late friend
As I have started to transition from the garage the wife parks in to the shop, I started leaving out everything that has been acquired for the 8.1 swap. I have a couple more boxes showing up this week, but going to start the process of yoinking the 305 hopefully this week.

Seeing all the parts out has me all hot and bothered.

Letting myself get sidetracked while waiting on parts for the crawler.

Started disconnecting the cooling system, fuel, electrical, and exhaust for the 8.1 swap.

Probably going to get the engine pulled this weekend, then start cleaning and painting the engine bay.
 
What accessory bracket are you using to mount the compressor? Stock 8.1 truck mounted low to the block is no bueno on a square. G-van/workhorse brackets are the factory option but there is a guy making some on one of the Facebook 8.1 groups.
 
Pulled it out to start power washing yesterday. Currently soaking with degreaser. Going to power wash again today then start cleaning up wiring and hoses to prep for paint. I have a can of Willoway green to touch up in the engine bay. The plan is not show room quality, but I want it to look nice to match the cleaned up 8.1. Then I have a can of Vice Grip Garage’s rebuild black for everything else.
