I’m considering selling my K5 I could write a long story behind why but the short of it is I’ve got a lot of bad memories attached to the truck through no fault of it’s own and I’m ready to move on.
It’s got 148k on the body, the 700r4 was rebuilt less than 700miles ago by a very reputable local shop. The crankshaft snapped on the original motor shortly after rebuilding the trans and I swapped in a 602 crate engine with 350hp, I converted the truck to carb using an Edelbrock AVS 2 carb, factory fuel pump and a fuel regulator. I installed Hedman longtube headers and had a local shop run true duals with 40 series flowmasters. It’s got 33x12.50 Cooper AT3 tires that are about two years old but have less than 3k miles on them.
The interior has a brand new Cheyenne pickups dash pad($600), doors have new window seals, tailgate has a new motor and cable. New window tint all the way around.
The bad; Truck was repainted gold from factory gun metal
Tailgate is cracked in 3 places right below the window on the skin. It doesn’t affect operation but will need fixing at some point.
The temp gauge doesn’t work on the dashboard (I believe it’s an issue with the gauge cluster)
The radio doesn’t work (factory, dash isn’t cut)
Gear indicator doesn’t work on dash bezel
It still has the factory 2.73 gears, I hadn’t decided if I wanted to regear or swap axles. It runs great considering the high gearing.
It has a small amount of rust behind the driver/passenger seats in the corners.
You can dig through my entire build under the title ‘Barney’ and see everything I’ve done with it since I’ve owned it. It’s currently running really well, I have only put about 300 miles on it since I got it running with the new motor and I have a lot of confidence in it as it sits, I really hoped to keep this for a long time but I think I’d just rather it go to a new home. It’s a very solid starting point and I think it will make someone very happy.
