About 6 months ago I traded a transfer case for the remains of a 2001 Ram 2500 quad cab long bed 4x4. pretty stripped out, but what the heck.... we can toss this thing back together... The plan is to have a Running/driving fully assembled, 2001 dodge with a 12V p pump cummins dually truck with a NV4500 NP241DHD, DRW D80 rear and DRW D60 front for less than 4,000. Not counting any cosmetic or maintenance things like paint, brakes, wear and tear items.
The truck was originally a 5.9 gas, nv4500 np241dld dana 60 front and rear. Motor was still in there but, that was it for drivetrain.
We've been stashing parts for some time to put it back together. Removing parts from other various trucks along the way. One donor truck was found at a self serve salvage yard which sourced the motor, t case, both axles and flatbed. Yes, we bought a Cummins for $200!!
Here's the tally so far. There are some things still needed.
truck cab/frame 100
engine 200
trans 150
clutch
front axle 155
rear axle 155
transfer case 125
rear driveshaft

exhaust (diamond eye)
bed (CM flatbed) 280
steel DRW rims w/lugs 200

front driveshaft 26
pwr str pmp 15
computer 25
brake calipers 20
sending unit DSL 24
front bumper
trans crossmember
total 2095
parts with no value are still needed.
How it looked when we got it.

With the long weekend here, Me and the lady decided to start bolting some stuff together.
hanging the front axle;

rear axle in and on all four wheels!
(photo coming soon)
old bed removed (inside was beat to hell) for CM flatbed replacement. And
fuel tank removed for Diesel sending unit install.

CM flat bed on frame. And that is how it sits as of this afternoon.

Not sure if the flatbed will stay or not. Kind of diggin the factory sport look in this color with an original dually bed.

Next is to pull the cab and front clip for complete powertrain install. Waiting on input shaft and clutch for the NV4500.
