So I found some seats out of an 01 Silverado single cab truck for the K5. All manual and no armrest, just what I was looking for. I have them "mocked" up right now. Currently I have the inner and most forward bolt in the stock hole location just to get the stable on both seats. This seems to be a good spot. Guess all that is left is drilling some holes and installing some new bolts and large washers or plate.

Are the factory "nuts" underneath welded to the body or could I just knock the existing one off of the existing hole I am going to use?

Any tips on the Tuffy console? It seams to make it level it has to sit a little far back, but I guess that is not a big deal.

Are you mounting yours flat on the floor or spacing them up? I have a set for my Blazer and they feel low, I'm thinking about spacing them up around 3".

They do feel a little lower than the factory, but I am pretty tall so everything still usable and I had good visibility. I thought about mounting them to some square tubing then welding tabs over to the existing mounting holes that way I do not have to drill new holes and that would raise them also.

That's probably what I'll be doing. I'm 6' but mine make me feel like a little kid sitting in my dad's truck. LOL

I will be spacing mine up ~2". One thing to watch for is that the mounting location you're using puts the seats a little towards the drivers side. It isn't really noticeable, but when I built my cage, it interfered on the drivers side, and had plenty of room on the passenger side. If I was to do it again, I'd ignore the stock holes and mount it centered, it's only one extra hole to drill.

The stock captured mounts are spot welded to the floor. I drilled mine out and relocated them, using them with the new seat locations. I still have to patch the original mounting holes, but I'm just using a larger patch to cover the hole, and spot weld locations.

I did notice that Rob. There is definitely more of a gap between the console and drivers seat as opposed to the console and passenger seat.

Are these weld nuts spot welded from inside the cab? I see where the nut is welded to the plate but how is that plate attached? I need to pull up the floor mat I guess and see from there.

I've got my Tuffy console mounted in roughly the same spot, where I pushed it as far forward as I could until the cup holders contacted the t-case shifter bezel...and now regret it, lol. I ended up moving the cup holders to the back of the console, as I mounted the Art Carr shifter to the front of the console, which blocked the cupholders....and now the console is far enough back that the arm rest is essentially useless as an arm rest, lol. It could just be that I'm a short little troll though too....

One big tip, if you've never used a Tuffy console though - get the little pull tab thingy they sell that goes around the lock cylinder. I eventually got used to grabbing the front of the lid as I was pushing the button to open it, but it would still be a whole lot easier with the pull tab.
