'01 toyota Solara 1MZ-FE Cat

Anyone have any experience with these? My buddy took this thing in and the mechanic is telling him the "upper cat" is bad. apparently its a three way cat? And not a simple in line one? They want 300 bucks to fix it, and i told him that sounds bogus because it shouldnt be that much at all. Hell, i have a little welding experience and would try to weld it for him a lift (depending on how thin the metal on the pipes are) but still, 300 bucks? Are there really 3 cats or are they o2 sensors? Thanks guys.

Not sure, but that price doesn't seem too bad.

Cats are not cheap.

thats a dang good price if its installed.

they are part of the exhaust manifold, 4 cyl, or 6 cyl.
