Ok, so this shoudl be an easy question to search for....but can't find squat.

What type of gas mileage are ppl getting out of 2001ish Burb's, 3/4 ton 4x4 with teh 6.0L?

What rear end are you guys running with said mileage?

THanks guys!

I can't help you with the 6.0 mileage but I do have a 2001 3/4 ton with the 8.1L and get 11-12 in normal mixed driving. Got 13.5 on our last highway trip. Should give you a lower bound for what you can expect.

Oh, and it's with 3.73s.

Ok, cool. Surprisingly, searching other sites, i have sort of found that the 6.0 gets about the same mileage....possibly less on teh highway for some reason. Guess that choice is out!

Damn do i need to get this "tow rig" phrase out of my head, and buy another 1/2 ton :(

Why oh why can't they make the duramax in the 3/4 ton burbs.......

duramaxsuburban.com is like my dream right now.....

My '05 2500HD w/6.0 gets 10 around town. Lots of stop and go here. On the highway I get 15-16 solo. It's got 4.10's. Towing I usually get 8-12 depending upon speed. 65 seems to net the best mileage. 75-80 the worst.

buy a ford with a powerstroke or a dodge with a cummins in it..

a truck doesn't really suit my needs....if it did, i'd get a duramax.

Haha, that would be a bridge i would cross when i got there. Would be hard decision between a cummins and a duramax/allison. But until they make a burb with one, its not really an option.

Yah serious. I saw that one.....pretty sweet.

I was thinking more along the lines of http://www.duramaxsuburban.com

Too bad i don't have a good shop and a couple of buddies that could help me with a conversion, because you can pickup the 2000+ 2500 burb's super cheap, as they both sucks gas with teh 6.0 or 8.1 L motors. I've seen a few used duramax motors for sale too.........damn, dont' get me thinking about this again :)
